ARTIST  BIO

Virgin Islands native Bush Tea (formerly known as Jai Issa) began her music career as a psuedo-philosophical rapper for a 14-piece chamber orchestra out of the Juilliard School of Music called ShoutHouse and continued on to play for Lin Manuel Miranda through the womens empowerment organizations Girl Be Heard at the Time Warner Center, and jazz band QNA at Webster Hall before deciding to branch out and work on her own pop dancehall EP in 2016. Bush Tea is committed to breaking through musical and social binaries by making hits for people to dance to and songs that will be classics. After leaking her song in the Virgin Islands she recieved a large local following and has been played on repeat on isle 95 Big Phat Morning Show, WSTX FM and Medgar Evars College Radio. Bush Tea looks forward to releasing her dancehall project entitled Lilac in Summer '16.
